OBENCHAIN BOYER HAND ENGINE

This engine is 95% restored thanks to the help of Cook’s Classic Restoration/Cook’s Collision Repair in Kearney. We still need to add some of the finishing touches.

This type of engine was pulled by hand, not horse. This engine has a 45 gallon capacity. The tank is filled with water and soda. The handle on the back is used to turn the agitator and thoroughly dissolve the soda. An acid bottle is placed under the cap at the rear of the tank. The lever forward of it is pulled to break the bottle and the water is pressurized.

This engine also would have carried 100’ of hose, nozzle, buckets, lantern, axe, crowbar and monkey wrench. We still need to find hose for it and install the rest of the accessories.
